The Safe Water Campaign and Clean-up Drive aims to raise the knowledge and awareness of the rural and coastal communities on how health and sanitation affects the people’s access to clean and safe water. It is an activity organized by Nature’s Spring Foundation—the coporate social responsibility arm of Philippine Spring Water Resources, Inc.—in partnership with Nature’s Spring, Cebu Technological University Moalboal Campus, DSWD 4Ps Beneficiaries of Moalboal, Local Government of Moalboal and Barangay Saavedra. The event will be participated by students, residents living in the coastal communities, barangay officials, resorts and tourists. The activity will happen in Basdaku Beach, Saavedra, Moalboal, Cebu Philippines on March 23, 2019. The activity is scheduled on a Saturday to accommodate more volunteers since it falls on a weekend. The awareness campaign wills tart at 6:30 AM at Basdaku Public Beach and clean-up will start at around 7:30 AM. Wastes will be collected, segregated and recorded. An action plan will be conducted together with the town’s government, as well as the Barangay, the school and resort owners as to the management of wastes after the disposal. Nature’s Spring Foundation will then make a report of the documented trash and will be submitted to the town’s government as an additional data for the conceptualization of appropriate municipal waste management programs.
